Meet Jan Hansen, our house composer, whose profound impact on our musical journey cannot be overstated. Jan Hansen is a Danish/Swedish composer based in Malmö. At a young age he got accepted at the advanced postgraduate diploma in composition, under the mentorship of esteemed composers such as American composer Elliot Carter at Centre Acanthes in Avignon, and with British composer Brian Ferneyhough at Foundation Royaumont.
His understanding of our instruments is unparalleled, enabling him to create music that resonates harmoniously with our personalities and captivates the hearts of our audience.

Jan Hansen attended the music school Kapellsberg in Härnösand, Sweden in 1985 with composition as a major. He was accepted for further studies in composition and electroacoustics at the Malmö Academy of Music in 1989. Among his teachers at the academy were composers Hans Gefors, Trevor Wishart, Bent Sørensen and Anders Hillborg. Arranging and orchestration with Sten Ingelf and Anders Nordentoft. After receiving his postgraduate diploma in composition in 1991. Postgraduate studies on scholarships in France in 1990 with American composer Elliot Carter at Centre Acanthes in Avignon, and in 1998 with British composer Brian Ferneyhough at Foundation Royaumont.
